How to Join

To join any of the sporting clubs on campus, you first need to be member of NUSport.

Becoming a member of NUSport:

1. Full time & part time students of Newcastle Uni – you already are a member! Proceed straight to the gearstore.
2. Full time staff at Newcastle Uni – you too are automatically a member! Please find out your NUSport number before coming to the gearstore.
3. Newcastle Uni students on a leave of absence – you need to join NUSport as an “associate member” at the front desk at the forum. They will require proof that you are on a leave of absence and it costs $55. Bring your NUSport number around to the gearstore.
4. Australian university graduates – you need to join NUSport as an “associate member” at the front desk at the forum. They will require proof that you graduated and it costs $55. Bring your NUSport number around to the gearstore.
5. Not one of the above? – you need to join NUSport as an “external member". This will cost you $77 and you need committee approval first. The club has a limited number of external members so we ask aspiring members to come to a committee meeting and introduce themselves. External members are supposed to be bringing skills into the club this could be; experience in one of the clubs activities, IT skills, graphic design etc. If you don’t think you’ve got the skills then buying the committee a round is guaranteed to get you in . Please bring your membership form (pick up from the front desk at the Forum) to the meeting so we can sign it straight away. To find out when the meetings are look on the calendar or contact someone from the committee.

Becoming a member of NUMC:

Come around to the gearstore (6:00 to 7:00 on Tuesday and 5:30 to 6:30 on Friday) bring your NUSport# or your student card. Membership is $40, please bring cash as we have no eftpos.
